For those watching the Giro on BeIn, perhaps because they're fed
up of listening to Kelly, or perhaps because they have found
Eurosport to be unreliable, or more in love with tennis lately,
the shorter commentator with the shock of black hair, for those
who didn't recognize him or were bamboozled by the French
language, is Claudio Chiappucci.
And incidentally, at least for Davey personally, one of the
greatest performances ever was Chiappucci's ride to Sestrieres in
the 1992 Tour.

Davey's other candidate for greatest ever was Fausto Coppi riding
Derijyk off his back wheel on the Crespera after the little Flahut
had sat there for 70 kilometers in the 1953 Worlds.
(And apologising for dropping names here, Davey actually raced
against Fausto Coppi on several occasions and had a "Buon Giorno"
acquaintance with both him and his girlfriend Giulia Occhini.)
